LEGO Star Wars AT-TE Review Get Ready for the Battle of Geonosis

[easyazon_cta align=”center” identifier=”B00CNBS44I” key=”small-light” locale=”US” tag=”chadgodoy24-20″]It was a slow day at the office, so I decided to skip work after enjoying a nice big juicy steak. (Boss, if you’re reading right now, sorry! Don’t fire me, I need the cash!) I headed home, and tried to catch up on some me-time. It only took an hour before I started getting so bored that I almost tore my best Lego sets head off, so imagine how glad I was when a buddy of mine called.

He’s pretty obsessed with Star Wars, and was looking for the best lego sets out there.

Then, I said, “Get Ready for the battle of Geonosis!” Get it?

Well, it’s not surprising that you don’t because they never actually said that in the movie. Anyway, I was talking about getting the Lego Star Wars AT-TE.

I’m glad he got it, because if he didn’t, there would’ve been an awkward silence.

To be honest, I’m a little bummed that he’s only going to start his Star Wars Lego set collection then. But it’s better late than never, right? At least, he’s indirectly keeping the lights on around here. Also, he came to me for help so I guess I got that thing going for me.

The guy bought it right away (no surprise there), and he was as excited as a 5-years old kid on Christmas. Want to know what he’s excited about? No point keeping you waiting, so here we go.

What’s in the box of LEGO Star Wars AT-TE?

You’d think that all gamer/Star Wars fans would have no problem building this, but surprise, surprise, his big, chunky fingers became a problem. The 794 Lego block pieces weren’t exactly small, and they’re easy to work with in my opinion.

Nobody’s perfect, I guess. If he was like a 5-year old on Christmas when he placed the order, you should’ve seen him shaking when the package arrived. He was shaking like a guy who’ll finally get his package used for the first time, if you know what I mean.

But who could blame him? He was getting one of the best sets available, which is also one of my personal
favorites by the way. Inside the box are a huge element in the battle scenes from Star Wars”: Episode II Attack of the Clones.

The AT-TE measures 8 inches high, 16 inches long, and 11 inches wide, perfect for reenacting his favorite scenes. I hope he wouldn’t ask me to play with him, though. I like the man, but I have work. I mean, I’m this close to getting fired.

I was sure that onLego with light saberce he got the whole thing done, he would get his playmates. We have Craigslist now, don’t we?  Especially when they found out that the set includes the Battle DroidTM, Battle Droid Commander, Mace Windu, Coleman Trebor and a clone commander, nobody would say no to him. Well, except for me, that is.

We both agreed that this (you know, because he only had one then) is more than a display. This is the real deal. You can lift the top hatch for extra flick missiles, and even open the cockpit to put one of the minifigures inside.

They could even step it up a notch and fire the two moving laser cannons and the rotating top-mounted projectile cannon.

Want to reach the thermal detonators? He and his newfound Star Wars-loving friends could let one of the minifigures climb the ladder through the opening rear hatch.

Within the box is the ultimate real-life battle scene experience. Like my buddy here, you are just a few clicks away from one of the best Lego sets in the Star Wars collection.

Who’s it for

Best lego sets star wars Are you under three or some weirdo who feels the need to swallow small Lego parts? No?

[easyazon_link identifier=”B00CNBS44I” locale=”US” tag=”chadgodoy24-20″]Then this is for you[/easyazon_link]. It’s printed quite big on the box that this is especially for children nine to 14 years old. Well, the guys here at the headquarters just think that people over that age wouldn’t find this Lego set much of a challenge.

Let’s face it, all of us including my friend are just children forced into adulthood. If he can enjoy his Lego Star Wars AT-TE without getting dirty looks from the delivery guy, then so can you.

Your kid below nine who you think is some kind of Lego genius, why don’t you get him this set just because? This is definitely anyone who loveAs Star Wars and/or Lego.

Pros

While building this best Lego sets, my buddy said that if he were a kid, he would find this to be a nice challenge. When he opened the box, he didn’t have an idea just how it would all come together to be one hell of a clone walker.

It’s a shame it ended up in a room that looks like a hurricane just passed through it. On the plus side, the model can stand up on practically any surface. Thank God!

Looking at this Lego set among the pile of crap in his room, he admired how it intricately designed it is. The detail is jut incredible. We all know that there’s nothing that could come close to the real thing, but this comes as a close second. I’m just happy that there’s a thing of beauty in the middle of all… that.

Cons

This guy called me again two weeks after I suggested the Craigslist thing, and I almost just let him go to the answering machine. Good thing I wasn’t feeling like much of a jerk lately, and answered his call. Guess what? He’s already found friends!

He sounded a little pissed off though, because according to him, the weapons and the top raising part falls of pretty easily. Oh, God. What exactly are they doing there, hitting it against the wall?

I just told him, that they aren’t exactly kids and they should take extra care of their stuff. And of course, they can always rebuild it because you know, they’re Legos. Aside from that miniscule “problem”, he didn’t have any issues with it. And until he buys another one, it’d still reign as the best his collection.

Alternative Products

Any Star Wars franchise fan would find [easyazon_link identifier=”B00X3301HI” locale=”US” tag=”chadgodoy24-20″]LEGO Star Wars 75095 TIE Fighter Building Kit[/easyazon_link] to be much more challenging an apt for a man-child like me and my friend. In fact, in case he calls again and asks for help, I’d just recommend this Lego set over the phone.

Well, I really didn’t have to go to his place for the first on, but it’s kind of a special moment. [easyazon_link identifier=”B004P9AH1O” locale=”US” tag=”chadgodoy24-20″]The Lego Star Wars Ewok Attack 7956[/easyazon_link] would also be on the list because it also has moveable parts, making it great for kids of all ages.

Final Opinion

Your kid will love this because there are moveable parts, making the playing more realistic. And I’m sure you’ll be playing this in secret when they’re all asleep. Don’t worry, I can keep a secret. 😉
