What’s in the box LEGO Ninjago Jay’s Elemental Dragon 70602?

The perceived most attractive Ninjago toy in this set is undoubtedly Jay’s Elemental Dragon. All of its parts are promised to be posable.

Battling this dragon is the pirate flyer. It can house one minifigure, and measures 4″ high, 3″ long and 3″ wide.

Assorted weapons are also included: Cyren’s harpoon hook shooter, pirate sword and dagger, a translucent blue Djinn Blade with ‘trapped Nya’ element, Jay’s 2 golden katanas, and Monkey Wretch’s pirate sword.

Of course, all Lego Ninjago sets wouldn’t be complete without minifigures! This one has a Jay and Cyren minifigures, plus the Monkey Wretch.

Who’s it for?

This is generally for anyone who wants to recreate his favorite scenes from the Ninjago shows.

To some extent, it’s advisable to follow the age recommendation on the box (8 to 14).

Because it contains small parts, it’s advisable to keep this Lego Ninjago set away from children below three.

Pros

  •  [easyazon_link identifier=”B01AW1R0WM” locale=”US” tag=”chadgodoy24-20″]The dragon has very cool wings[/easyazon_link]

Jay’s Elemental Dragon has wings that are both simple and awesome. They’re not overdone, and are greatly-designed.

  • There are some neat items suitable for collectors

Lego Ninjago sets are always trying to be unique, and in some sense, they succeeded with this one. There are a few parts that you can only find in this particular set, making this a must-have for collectors.

Cons

  • It doesn’t deliver on its promise

On paper, the dragon really is awesome. However, the only good thing about it is the wings. The dragon’s hardly posable. Also, it’s hard making the missile launcher go the way you want it to.

  • Overall, it’s a boring set

Aside from a few particular parts, there’s nothing unique about this set. Just because Lego Ninjago sets are for kids, it doesn’t mean that they should always just go for big.

Alternative Products

Its dragon is so great, it overshadows everything else.

Another dragon-inspired option is the LEGO Ninjago Dragon’s Forge 70627 Building Kit. It even features two minifigure seats and a shooting crossbow.

Unfortunately, it’s better for display than for actual playing.

The Ver-Brick

If you’re a collector, go ahead and get yourself the LEGO Ninjago Jay’s Elemental Dragon.

For everyone else, don’t. There are more worthy Lego Ninjago sets out there.

This Ninjago set is bland. It isn’t even great for action-packed battles it’s supposed to be for.
